Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s Singapore casino resort was sued by organizers of the first conference it hosted for misrepresenting a “complete disaster” as a world- class venue and for imposing duress, fear and force. 3 Foreigner and 1 Local man Charged with Cheating at Singapore Casino

All 4 guys used the same method of cheating. Placing bet after the result is out. The 3 foreigner are  charged are Spaniard Jose Lopez Pintado, French nationals Fabrice Thierry Laurent Michel and Reynald Georges Victor Lasnel. Marina Bay Sand Casino Opens at 3.18 on April 27 2010

Marina Bay Sands will open their door barely 24 hours after they finally managed to get their casino license. Only part of the integrated resort will be open for now. Built at a cost of US$5.5 Billion. Marina Bay Sands thou will have less games compared to that of rival Resort World Sentosa. The numbers now stand at 9 vs 19. However, analyst is guessing that this is because Marina Bay Sands want to concentrate on more the popular games such as blackjack, baccaret and roulette. The grand opening will be in June 23rd 2010.

Increase in Police Raids in Singapore

Thou this has nothing to do with the casino directly, however it seems that with the opening of the integrated resort the number of police raids have increased. Where one would seldom read news of raids in the past, ever since the opening of the casino, we would be reading news of a raid almost every other day. LAW-ENFORCEMENT officers arrested 153 people - 46 men and 107 women - for various offences in a three-day raid that ended on Sunday.

Their offences included gang-related activities, immigration offences, peddling of contraband cigarettes and vice-related activities.

They were caught at various locations, such as entertainment outlets, massage centres, hotels, back lanes and lodging houses in Balestier, Geylang, Joo Chiat, Orchard Road, Selegie and Sembawang.

More than 200 officers from the Singapore Police Force, the Central Narcotics Bureau, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Singapore Customs took part in the raid.
